Hello and Welcome! As many of you know, I’ve been making Jewelry and Hemp products for many years now. This project started with just me needing to help myself out of a very dark place, something horrible that I was stuck in that was quite literally killing me. I began to observe that MANY women I know personally, were losing their children. CONTINUED...
This project is about helping all women with PTSD, for all reasons, in all degrees of severity, in all phases of the healing process. In a world so filled with cruelty & trauma, it takes so much more to survive- we simply cannot do it alone anymore. We have virtually no resources to help us, we are going to CHANGE THAT. This will be a haven, a Sisterhood that understands how we've managed thus far, without judgment. We'll utilize Community, Art and Legal Hemp products to begin, offering alternative mental wellness options that we are in such dire need of. Truly, THIS IS ABOUT KINDNESS...
October 15th, 2024 ◈ Project Check-In
1) Looked into the 501(c)(3) -- NO NEED FOR LLC The Colorado Secretary of State resources online look good, what to do to establish a non-profit on my own is very comprehensive on the website; step-by-step instructions to obtain a non-profit seem to be something I can do on my own. Maybe this isn't so intimidating, the CO SOS is a woman, that does give me courage, more incentive to keep pressing forward. Step one was getting the EIN--check. The cost for this, that I can tell is about $50 registration with CO, not too bad. I looked into using a third-party like Legal Zoom, not having the confidence to do this correctly, at minimum is $150. I know that one-hundred isn't a lot in today's economy for something so important, but believe me, It's enough of a difference to be legitimate or not, my hands are tied until I complete this very important step, in order to help others, I GOT THIS!
2) Colorado Hemporium - The website IS LIVE! Affordable Hemp products acces now available to people online RIGHT NOW! www.cohemporium.com.
3) The B-Sister Shop is now up and running here! It is just me and my artwork right now, just my jewelry is for sale at the moment. Up to this point, around the past 4 years, the sales from my jewelry have helped me fund this project. I have put together over 100 care packages to women I am very concerned about. THIS NON-PROFIT OFFERS ALTERNATIVE RESOURCES for women in crisis, currently suffering from the loss of a child and more, experiencing the aftermath of something awful-- with severe PTSD, women ARE NOT ALONE. That's what this first project is all about, connecting sisters, family, safety, a home. I have my store here because I would like a percentage of my direct sales funding my "Art of Gifting" flagship fundraiser.
A) "The Art of Gifting" - Free art supplies for women in need, a place and a way to connect with other women going through trauma too. It's time to build that Facebook group now, establish the Sisterhood Community, build the FB group--invite only at first? The primary objective is to protect others, a home, it MUST BE a safe place online.
B) Project Delta - Utilize my first donation, which is beading supplies, sending enough for 85 projects out locally around me, into the North Fork Valley, Western Slope of Colorado community. Perhaps have a contest for those 85 necklaces could potentially be fundraising income for the winner. Perhaps this could be an ongoing way to help a B-Sister in need.
C) Build a marketplace for women to sell their art, products and services free of charge. A platform that covers the hosting and listing fees, women can earn income without having to worry about those costs. We can start doing this now, we can use my shop that's set up
D) The B-Sisters Bee Boxes, Custom Care Packages - A charitable subscription and gifting service, utilizing the goods already being sold in the marketplace above, created and ran by the women making those products for additional income. THIS NEEDS SO MUCH WORK Still, let's focus on connecting women first, free art supplies at minimum is an excellent start...
A Brief shout out to Linda Lillard (Seriously Whimsical Cottage, Montrose), she gave me the courage to start this, giving me her honey-pots. We've already been given donations, a MASSIVE THANKYOU to Linda, Julie and Debbie Fisk, for believing in me! HERE WE GO!!!!
